Once upon a long while ago, when I was a dumb ass kid and no whiskey was available in my small North Georgia home town, we would visit a bootlegger at his house and pay $2.50 for a pint of bourbon (Early Times as I recall). At the time, I was making $1 an hour at a pants factory, so that pint represented 2 and a half hours of mind numbing work. After I left my home town I later heard that the bootlegger and some others were killed at that same house.
