Last night started off with Old Weller 107, then Knob Creek Single Barrel, then finished off with Two Stars which was an underwhelming finale. And I feel great today

Tonight I finished off my Knob Creak 9 yr old. I'm gonna pull out something from the back of the pack, don't know what yet.

Just won a bottle of Woodford Reserve at the office Christmas lunch. Should be good, I've had it before but never owned a bottle. THis will give me the chance to know WR just a bit better.

My recollection of WR is smooth and rich with oak finish. Not exactly the brawlers I'm use to, but I'm sure I'll like it fine. :D

Congrats Birdo. I always thought Woodford tasted "hotter" than it's 90 proof would suggest. Maybe "spicier" would be a better term. Don't know if it's the high rye or the copper potstills. Whatever it is, I like it.

Enjoy,

Way to go Birdo! WR is a very nice bourbon, alittle hotter/spicer than normal, but nothing like the Double Oaked WR. I think you will like it.

Oh, I can't wait to hear your opinion of WR Birdo. Anyway, this evening I'm having some Evan Williams Black Label. I'm not sure what direction I want to go right now. My brother will be here for a few days at Christmas so I think we will have some 4 roses SB but I'm thinking about also opening up one or two others. I'm thinking about picking up some High West product.

Cracked open E.H. Taylor barrel proof, and it is awesome!!!!! 135.4 proof, but I swear it’s not too hot, seems to have lots of caramel, toffee, even citrus before it moves to a mellow burn, which I thoroughly enjoy, as it moves to the back of the palate.
Twas a real treat. About an hour long sipper. Neat with no water.

Dickel 9 year and KCSB are duking it out tonight for favorite whiskey I currently have open. It's a draw.......guess I'll have to go another round!

Last night it was Lexington. Tonight since I am starting my vacation for the holidays I think it's time to open the EH Taylor Small Batch. It has sat on the shelf for the last two months just waiting,

and watching,

and enticing...
