Friday night was Woodford Reserve & Double Oak, both indivdually and together. Some mixtures were better than either individually. Saturday night was a Scotch night. Laphroaig 10YO Cask Strength. This bottle tastes better than when it was full. Much better.

Lot B! Lot B! Lot B!

First rate whiskey. Balanced, complex, subtle. Sweetness is soft but distinct. Dryness is in the correct measure. Balance lies twixt the sweetness and the dryness. Subtlety is like the comment that amazes and edifies........... and which reveals complex layers.

Some johnnie walker green label, a good pure malt blend that no longer exist. Thinking about my next purchase for a bbq this weekend, and my eventual replacement bottle of kentucky spirit.

75% Old Weller 7 YO Special Reserve at 90 proof and 25% Old Weller Antique 7 YO at 107 proof yields a bourbon of about 94 proof. A wee mite of filtered water and now I have a nice bourbon rich in sweet vanilla and oak flavors with a touch of tobacco and leather trailing.

Over agin this Weller mixture I throwed some 120 proof 9 YO Knob Creek reduced to about 95 proof. As you might expect, given the rye in the KC recipe, it has a more bite but almost the same upfront sweetness. The KC has more body and a longer finish. I think I prefer it to the Weller. But, who knows, on another day, it might be the Weller I find best.

Looking ahead to this evening, I'm finishing off a bottle of Old Forester Signature and complementing this with a 5 Vegas Classic Robusto.
Whiskey for Breakfast (in the key of Glock).

Having some Four Roses Single Barrel, which I dearly love! This and Buffalo Trace is about all I drink anymore. I've tried them all, and now, this is all I want.

Had a Bernheim Wheat last night and might have to do a doubletake on it. I prefer the Rye bourbons but this stuff was really good and I fear I could easily drink too much of it.
