given the choice, id take the Rowans just cause ive not tried it yet, i have KC, and ive yet to have a scotch i liked.

i dont know your taste i am going to try an islay malt soon which is very smokey and peaty, you might like bowmore 12 or highland park 12 but those cost more than a bourbon.

ive only tried a few scotches but it jsut wasnt my thing, as is beer. with beer, i despise that bitter hops-y taste. i'd rather be punched in the face. with scotch, its that nasty peat taste. a buddy just went to scotland for a weeks vacation and brought some from a distillery back with him. to me, it was worse than the cheap shit here. smoked peat best describes it

but if YOU enjoy it, thats all that matters, isnt it...

Yes, exactly. Beer is a balancing of a bitter sharp taste against the sweet bready malty taste, as say vinegar in a salad dressing sharpens the thick taste of the oil. Or mustard cuts against the taste of the hot dog. The peat taste is parallel to a smoked ham vs. a cured non-smoked pork product. It's all acquired tastes...

What I have found is when I read how something is made and is "supposed" to taste, it helps me "get" it more but that doesn't mean I like everything. In drinks, I could never really get the tequila taste, or grappa, say but many enjoy these greatly. Certainly, no one is better than another.

Got sick of beer a few years back. Bloat, belching, and peeing; :x thanks but no thanks. I'll have one now and then, but bourbon is much better. Beer is for boys.

UPDATE: I had a Sam Adams Summer Ale on the patio, it was good.

If I go on a trip to the coast I will get something good, be it bookers or a scotch.

When I get home some rowans creek, got a whole day of school ahead of me.

Well, everything except the ice chests are loaded in the truck for the camping trip tomorrow so I'm relaxing with an Avo XO and a glass of Baker's bourbon.

Foot in mouth. I had a Sam Adams Summer Ale on the patio, it was good.

I don't always drink beer, but when I do, I prefer Sam Adams. Stay thirsty my friends. :)

Torn between 3 whiskies
Macallan 10 Year Fine Oak- an excellent if light scotch, enjoyable since it is hot out in my area
Knob Creek- No need to explain, sweet, smokey, whats not to love
Rowans Creek- Excellent kind of like my halfway point to KS, maybe a vatting of it and knob creek would be a match made in heaven.
