Some tri-tip and a vatting of 3 different bourbons, Elijah Craig 12 year, Angel's Envy and Rowan's Creek.

Tonight I had some double oaked Woodford Reserve, Some Basil Hayden's and some Eagle rare at the suggestion of the guy at the store. I didn't hate it.

I am having some Kentucky Spirit, and then a vatting of KS and AE to see how those go together.

It was a terrible idea and will not be done again using KS.

For an encore, a sip of Lot B. Now, y'all and all, this rat cheer bourbon belongs to be loved for its very own sake. Now, since I be in a sipping mood, Imo throw it up agin some Pappy 15.

Ooh, wait a minute, now y'all, just wait a damn minute, 'Barleycorn'! (he's my mutt), 'C'mere', watch me take a nother sip of this here Pappy 15'. Lemme get the eyedropper and give you a taste'! He puts me in mind of that stupid beggin strips dog with his wanting to get at that eye dropper.

I doon know what they asking for Pappy 15 (or Pappy 20) these days, if you kin get it at all, and I doubt it would be worth it, but still, y'all and all, it is mighty fine eyedropper whiskey, just ask Barleycorn..

Now, to put summit else on the board, I done took some 10 YO Parker's Heritage Barrel Proof Wheater (126 proof) and cut it a mite, and compared it to the Pappy 15. The PH Wheater (for them as might not know, Pappy Van Winkle bourbons are wheat bourbons............ which means there is no rye in the recipe) is richer in barrel flavors and even at high proof, the PH Wheater (Pappy 15 is 107 proof) it is fairly tame at about the same proof. And, while it is not a substitute for partaking in the fantastic skills of a master bourbon 'rectifier' and 'selector' like Julian Van Winkle, for some, the Parker Heritage Wheater might be superior (no harm to anyone in that). But, by my lights, the PH Wheater is not as well balanced as the Pappy 15.

All both are world class spirits. I DO MEAN WORLD CLASS SPIRITS!!! I do have some familiarity with the others.

I think I'll save the EC 12yo Barrel Proof. Gonna open my bottle of limited release Angel's Envy Rye.

Not sure how it will be. Cheers to finding out.

A vatting of Elijah Craig 12 year and Angel's Envy, superb nice and smooth with the light bite from the AE without being to much of a good thing.
