Tonight I am having a couple of pours of Angel's Envy. It's a nice pour but I think I will change to Eagle Rare till it's time to turn in.

I'm doing a very unscientific taste comparison of Jim Beam White Lable and Jim Beam Black...

Studying is hard...

I went to my favorite watering hole last night and did a flight of Jim Beam Black, Jim Beam Devil's cut, Knob Creek and Knob Creek single barrel.

The Devil's cut has a little too much wood showing and is not a very balanced bourbon. I found it to be disappointing and preferred the Black Label over it.

Care to weigh in on whether KC single barrel is better than regular KC? Knob Creek is one of my favorites. Beam Black is also quite fine. My first thought on Devils Cut was that it sounded like a gimmick.

I'm going to keep it simple tonight. I will have several pours of Old Charter 10 y/o while I enjoy a Romeo Y Julietta cigar on the front porch.

Trying a newly purchased EWSB 01. I have had other EWSB that were really good. Not sure just yet if I like this one or not. Maybe another pour to see...

The KC Single Barrel is at a higher proof than the traditional KC, I think it is a bit more rounded and complex than the regular KC as well. BTW, I really like KC! If I had to choose one I would absolutely choose the Single Barrel. Is it worth the price differential? That is for you to decide, it is for me.

Bottom line is if you like KC I am positive you will like the single barrel.

I was looking forward to the KCSBR coming out but now that it has I just can't get into it. I'll keep trying though.

Sitting at my computer enjoying several pours of Eagle Rare. Devils Cut is still a no show in my area and I have not had any luck finding at my usual internet suppliers. Count me in as one who prefers KCSB to KC.

Don't make me no nevermind, Birdo. For myself, I am having a sip (maybe two) of Old Ezra 7 YO 101. Pretty much unbeatable for $13.

Works for me too Birdo. I'm having Jim Beam Black with ginger and a lot of ice to help cool down from another hot day.
