I'm watching game 1 of the NBA playoffs with my ole buddy Jim Beam. Black label 8y/o. Beam has been advertising during the playoffs, so I'll drink to that. I find it to be quite nice at just under $20 bucks.

Just sitting at the computer sipping on several pour of Old Fitzgerald BIB. I've never tried any before so I picked up a 1 liter bottle on my way home. Verdict is it's not bad I think i am going to like it.

I think old fitz bib is a good bang for your buck wheater and resides above rebel yell and makers but below the wellers as far as wheaters I have had go.
(old fitz 1849 is atrocious though)

That makes me long for a DSP-16 BiB Fitz.

I am having several more pours of Old Fitz BIB. I like it and can see me stocking up on some more soon. At least I don't have to order it as I can find it in Lubbock, Texas which is a 210 mile round trip. The wife and I can make a day of it and eat a good meal.

Well my previous post was wrong. Called the store in Lubbock and was told I had gotten the last bottle they had in stock. So instead of waiting for them to get a new shipment I picked up the phone and ordered a case. It will be delivered Friday. :D

I am also having a large pour of Old Fitz BIB while sitting at my computer.

I had a nice dram of Four Roses Small Batch last night followed by a little Pappy 23. Both excellent!

What can I say. Having several large pours of Old Fitz BIB. Our air conditioner stopped working last night and the air conditioner people have not been able to get to us yet. The temp today was 101 degrees. I guess we are lucky as we have two floor fans to keep the air moving.

If they don't come tomorrow I think I am going to a hotel until they do. :x

Well the repairman arrived this morning and replaced the compressor fan motor. That's good as the temp in my area hit 111 today. So I am celebrating a cool house with several pours of AAA 10 year old. :D

Well I'm going to have several pours of Old Fitz BIB. My case was delivered today but my fridge quit today so I had to go buy another one. They say crap comes in threes. In March my Father-in-law passed away. When we got home we discovered our TV had given up the ghost and had to be replaced and earlier this week our air conditioner compressor fan motor died and had to be replaced. I hope the fickle finger of fate leaves us alone for the rest of the year because so far 2011 sucks and is getting expensive. :blackeye:

Tonight I started with a pour of Blanton's (on the rocks). After a long week with a lot of stressful overtime at work I intended to have a couple. I felt like sitting on the porch, and the weather is very warm, hence the ice. There was a big thunderstorm going on so my plan was to sit on the porch, strum the guitar, watch the storm and sip the bourbon. But the wind kicked up and started blowing rain on the guitar. Plus the dog was barking and going crazy everytime there was thunder. So most of my plans for relaxing were thwarted. However, I did get to sip the bourbon in the house.

Later I followed that up with Knob Creek Single Barrel. Also on the rocks... great stuff. That drink got me through watching television reruns with my son.

Hope you all are doing well.

I tried a very unscientific comparison of "economical" bourbons...

Jim Beam White vs Wild Turkey 80...

Both good in their own right for what they are...I can't seem to choose...

I'll continue my analysis and be back with a decision later...
