Purchased at:Dusty from Anaheim
Purchased for:$8.99
Info on this bottle:1979
Proof Of this Bottle:86
Nose:Soft ??? everything is soft. The rye is there first followed by earth, lumber and the smell of fall in the forest. There is a sweeter tone that goes to soft vanilla and some light, light floral tones ??? to light to distinguish
Taste:Sweet vanilla, candy and then a perfect touch of rye. This sings in my mouth??? WOW.. as time passes (~15 sec) the rye creeps up to be the most dominant with just a very soft touch of alcohol to make this a perfect drink
Finish:Sweet vanilla, rye sugarcane then just the lightest of leather and lumber fading to a sweet rye that is pleasing ???
Overall:I like this. Very nice rye... so balanced it is hard to pick out anything real sharp or negitive to discribe....

Purchased at:Estate sale
Info on this bottle:Bottled in Bond 1951-1961, label reads 8 years old, but is 10 years old
Proof Of this Bottle:100
Nose:Molasses and caramel with a hint of honeysucke flowers and cinnimon spice.
Taste:Caramel and rye grass with some apples and citrus fruit. Pepper spices with some ginger snap cookie or some other sweet spice, and fine tobacco. Think molasses cookie at Christmas time.
Finish:Long and dry. Oak wood tannins give this rye a dry finish that lingers in a very pleasant way, begging you to take another sip.
Overall:A great whiskey to sip on neat with a Punch Maduro cigar.

Purchased at:Gift from Scratchline, Purchased somewhere between Louisville and LA
Info on this bottle:Distilled in Pennsylvania, bottled in Cincinnati, in 1979 or 1980, 500ml or16.9 fl.oz.
Proof Of this Bottle:86
Nose:Caramel and rye grass with a little spice and fine tobacco. A very subtle nose. This whiskey needs to breath a bit to open up.
Taste:Very smooth with no alcohol burn but a little warmth in the throat. Caramel and vanilla with some rye spice - cinnamon and mint with some fine old tobacco and citrus fruits.
Finish:Long and sweet with a balance of caramel and oak tannins.
Overall:This is a nice sip of rye. It would be very good neat with a dessert or mixed in an old fashioned.
