Review from bourbonv (BourbonEnthusiast Review ID 208, Created:20050710124750)
Purchased at:Gift from Mash Bill
Info on this bottle:Standard bottle from liqor store
Proof Of this Bottle:86
Nose:Corn and lots of it, more than you expect in a 12 yo product. A little caramel and spiced applesauce.
Taste:Sweet corn and vanilla with some oak wood and cinnamonn spice. No fruit in the taste but it comes in later. More alcohol than you would expect from 86 proof, but not anything extreme - very wrm but no burn.
Finish:Apples and vanilla at first that slowly changes to a dry tannic wood finish with just a hint of that first sweetness.
Overall:The finish on this product makes a good counterbalance to a sweet desert but is probably too dry to go with tobacco (pipe or cigar). Not bad neat might be even better in an old fashioned or a manhattan.
