Review from bourbonv (BourbonEnthusiast Review ID 85) Purchased at: | Liquor store near Elkton Maryland | Info on this bottle: | 1986 bottle from the Medley Distillery in Owensboro | Proof Of this Bottle: | 80 | Nose: | Candy corn and nutmeg with a hint of charred oak. | Taste: | Light and smooth but with a nice warmth going down the throat. Caramel apple with a little spice. Not complex at all in the mouth. | Finish: | A good strong finish for such a smooth and light taste. The finish is where the taste really takes off with apples and caramel changing to a spiced fried apple and finishing with a sweet vanilla. | Overall: | Charles Medley made this whiskey before Glenmore bought his company. This whiskey is truely a work of a master distiller of great skill. Even at 80 proof it has tons of flavor and character. A great bourbon. |
