Excellent review, Gary. I agree completely. I am sipping some of Batch 3. It has a wonderful combination of smooth, rounded, soft sweetness and oak, along with great subtlety to go with its minty spice. As you do, I detect a mite of earthiness that I find suitably dampens the spice in the finish. Great whiskey!

Mike I think you would be even more impressed with the Batch 5. It is deeper, rounder, more complex and less earthy/chemical. I tasted it next to High West's Rendezvous (Batch12I05) which is good to be sure but not in the same league, IMO. Another example of the vagaries of pricing since they both fetched the same dollar here.
