Review from Mike (BourbonEnthusiast Review ID 1502, Created:20090226154204, Updated:20090302213916)
Purchased at:On yan side of hill
Purchased for:$30
Nose:Corn, vanilla, oak, char, burnt brown sugar (caramel), leather, chocolate, and clover provide an interesting and complex aroma.
Taste:A slow but evolving start that owes at lot to the sweet corn, and also something worthwhile to the barrel. The spices take hold toward the back and liven things up considerably. The nose is more better than the taste.
Finish:Moderately long finish with a some spice.
Overall:A good bourbon probably not worth the asking price.

Review from MikeK (BourbonEnthusiast Review ID 300, Created:20051026162536)
Purchased at:Liquor Barn, Lexington KY
Purchased for:33.99
Proof Of this Bottle:90
Nose:A very light and subtle nose. I often got very little here. With a couple glasses and ample breathing I found vanilla, caramel, apples, cocoa, cinnamon, and floral tones
Taste:The mouth feel was usually the best part of this bourbon. It is very thick, rich, and full. Marvelous. Subtle flavors of butterscotch, coffee, kahlua, and perhaps a hint of mint.
Finish:Very very short. Perhaps a hint of mint. The mouth feel carries over for just a bit as your tongue feels like it is wrapped in a warm gentle blanket.
Overall:This bourbon has a wonderfully rich mouth feel, but too little flavor, nose or finish. A completely acceptable and enjoyable drink. It has a few touches of greatness but then falls back short. Too expensive for what you get.

Review from Blue (BourbonEnthusiast Review ID 268, Created:20050901202625)
Purchased at:Local PLCB
Purchased for:25.99
Proof Of this Bottle:90
Nose:The initial aroma was very faint though it did increase slightly over about 20 minutes in the glass. The nose consisted of a mixture between damp hay and fresh summer sweet corn. It evoked happy memories of bygone childhood summers but was not enitirely alluring to the palate.
Taste:The front palate comes on meakly as roasted nuts which melodiously transitions to a much stronger mid-palate that is pure corn sweetness. What interests me more than the flavor is the mouthfeel. It has a light syrup consistency that coats the entire tongue but doesn't overburden it. Quite unusually delightful.
Finish:The move from mid-palate to finish is a bit abrupt but not bad. The taste starts as vanilla oak but changes to a tangy pine character that I can best describe as odd. The finish then continues to trail off as mint and ethanol.
Overall:In sum this is a very different bourbon than I am accustomed too. I feel as though it has the potential for greatness but has settled for average instead. Even after prolonged tasting the jury is still out on this one. I simply haven't developed a firm opinion good or bad, just a nice buzz.
