The initial alcohol blocks the aromas and it takes a while for it to open up. Ahint of vanilla with port wine fruit and some spice - nutmeg or some other sweet spice. | | Taste: | Wood tannins and grape wine fruitiness. A bit of pepper spice and fine, dark tobacco. Not much of a burn for such a high proof but a nice warmth in the mouth. | | Finish: | Long and fruity. The wine almost completely hides the bourbon but there is a hint of bourbon caramel in the finish. | | Overall: | I like this product, but I prefer a little bourbon flavor so I think I prefer the normal expression of Angel's Envy. |
