Review from spun_cookie (BourbonEnthusiast Review ID 1226, Created:20080808182538, Updated:20080808182611) Purchased at: | Bev Mo | Purchased for: | Don't Remimber | Nose: | Liquorish, leather, corn, some light vanilla, but very little. There is also a slight hint of banana. | Taste: | Sweet, little vanilla, liquorish, fruit/floral (unripe banana) | Finish: | Little caramel to mix with some floral and liquorish. Little burn. | Overall: | There is not much to be happy about. I open this once in a while to try it so see if I have mislabeled in my mind as ???ordinary??? and flat, but every time my thoughts come to these notes??? |

Review from abcgroup (BourbonEnthusiast Review ID 305, Created:20051102185406) Purchased at: | Green's (Atlanta) | Purchased for: | 25.99 | Info on this bottle: | DSP-KY-12 | Proof Of this Bottle: | 93.7 | Nose: | Wet leather with a hint of caramel and just a little vanilla. | Taste: | This has a robust flavor. It's not overbearing and it's not rough. It's just obivous...if that makes sense. I like it. It's got a nice wet leather taste with a good balance of oak. Not very sweet compared to others. | Finish: | Warm...with medium bodied finish. The oak lingers the most. | Overall: | I think this is a damn fine bourbon, especially for the price. Other bottles would catch a much higher price for the same bourbon. This is a great deal and well worth it. It's at least 2 tiers above your standard stock in this price range. |

Review from bourbonv (BourbonEnthusiast Review ID 105) Purchased at: | Liquor Barn on Hurstbourne Lane, Louisville | Info on this bottle: | Standard bottle from liqor store before it was pulled | Proof Of this Bottle: | 93.7 | Nose: | Old leather and oak with some vanilla and fruit - dates. | Taste: | Fruity with dates and apricots soaked in vanilla. A little oak and tobacco leading into the finish. No alcohol burn but a little warmth in the throat. | Finish: | Dry and oaky with a little fruit sweetness and spice. Lingering finish makes you want some more. | Overall: | Barton has done a great job with this first entry into the "premium" pakaged bourbon. |
