Purchased at: | Johnnies Liquor | Purchased for: | $9.99 | Info on this bottle: | Genuine Old Style Bourbon Great bourbony label 1983 | Proof Of this Bottle: | 80 | Nose: | Big Ol' nose full of Vanilla, Toffee, Caramel. Very S-W like. Some alcohol burn in the nose. | Taste: | Crunchy, sugary char flavors dominate the entry. The taste does not equal the intensity of the nose. Great vanilla ice cream, bannana split flavor, just not Big. | Finish: | Short about 30 seconds, fades into a vanilla, butterscotch finish. | Overall: | Like many early 80's Heaven Hill 80 proofers, this was Extremely light in color and I didn't expect much. But like many early 80's HH products I've had I was very surprised at the distinct flavors. Not big, but easily identifiable. The Old HH 80 proof is floral and fruity and this one is very much candy like. If it were a heavier bourbon it would be a dessert bourbon. |
