Purchased at:estate sale
Info on this bottle:Distilled at DSP 2 Louisville, Ky (Bernheim) bottled DSP Ky 16 (Stitzel-Weller) about 1990
Proof Of this Bottle:100
Nose:Buttered toffe and corn with a hint of fine leather and oak.
Taste:Sweet vanilla and corn husk with a little spice - cinimmon and nutmeg. No alcohol burn but a pleasant warmth in the throat leading into the finish.
Finish:Sweet vanilla and spice that last a good long time, leaving you with a taste for more.
Overall:It is easy to see why this was the best selling bonded bourbon in the early 1990's. It is a great drink straight and would also make for a great cocktail.

Purchased at:Middle Tennessee
Purchased for:$5 for 200ml
Info on this bottle:This one was distilled by Old Charter (Louisville) and bottled at Stitzel-Weller.
Proof Of this Bottle:100
Nose:Basic bourbon: vanilla/maple/oak. Maple prominent.
Taste:First taste is a combination of maple sweetness and alcohol heat -- the heat enough to hold off the maple till mid-palate, where it blooms. Some citric astringency nicely balances the sweetness without leaving a souring aftertaste.
Finish:Short, but positive and bold. There is a nice blast of alcohol/menthol freshness that lingers in the mouth, but doesn't follow the swallow.
Overall:This is 'swayback' bourbon: strong entry and finish (however short), with soft, palate-pleasing sweetness in the middle. Hard not to like it, but not memorable.
