In time it almost settles on one thing but the oak and smoke never gives up and the desert notes keep changing. At it???s core is the sweet smell and thick wood character that old rick houses have. Complex, sweet, long and delicious this is the best nose I have experienced to date. What an Angels breath must smell like after they sip their share. | | Taste: | The taste matches the nose with a mix of thick sweet nougat and spice. There is some initial spice and heat on the tung but it is quickly overpowered by creme brule, nougat and vanilla custard. The desert sweetness balances well with the spice and heat from the proof. There is a deep warm sweet oak char holding it all together. | | Finish: | For a second you think the finish might be MIA then it slowly emerges bringing spices and sweetness. It's really looonnng adding a viscous mouth feel and a revisit from some of the sweeter notes that you find yourself enjoying as a push of warmth moves so slowly down your chest. WoW | | Overall: | There is enough heat from the proof to say this isn't a beginners Bourbon but just a couple of drops of spring water softens the burn without taking away any of the special deep complexity and character of this bottling.
If you get a chance to try some of this take your time with it and enjoy the ride because it really is something special to be savored. |

Savory back yard brisket smoked with Hickory and Oak. There is a hearty rye nose here like no other bourbon and dark chocolate. As this opens there is a sweetness that roles from the edges of the scent. As the nose softens over 5 min there is distinct nuts ??? pecans or even fresh pecan pie, but the smoke and oak are there for the long ride.
The longer you can let this sit in your Glencairn and build up the nose, the more you will be amazed. It brings an array of talent from the lumberyard, spice rack, and candy store. There are subtle touches of herbs and maybe wild flowers | | Taste: | Some rye and then earth with a sweet mint touch that reminds me of fresh mint in the garden. The lumberyard oaks and smoke blends into the holiday spices with a touch of floral. The proof here will bite your tongue if you plan to long with this, so take it in small amounts so you can get the most of it. | | Finish: | Deep smoke and rye that pulls in a nice all day brisket with spices galore. There is a lasting power to this bourbon and I do not mean the proof. It has the will to carry a finish for well over a minute. The oak and smoke come and go with hints of dark chocolate, mint. | | Overall: | What a bourbon! For a 126.9 proof, it is not the alcohol that grabs you, it is the complexity of this young gun. Take of the training wheels, belly up to the barrel and go at it. Little sips are a must - anymore and this bourbon will overwhelm you with its depth and complexity.
Color:
The color every bourbon is jealous to have. Good dark amber like mahogany stained oak.
Legs:
Slow to form, but when they do the are thin and powerfully thick as they dominate the glass on the slow journey back to the pool at the bottom. |

Whip cream. Bacon? Baking spices, green apple
crispness, tiny amount of wood | | Taste: | Dryer, tingley. Spice up front, spicey candy fruits (red apple?), darker flavor, honey, maybe pumpkin pie with whip
cream and loads of spices on it? maple bacon again. | | Finish: | Bursts out of the gate with flavors, wood (but not dry) and spice, Spice lingers while wood fades, vanilla comes into play as the finish gets more dry. The last bits are a natural vanilla, spice, and dryness. | | Overall: | Not as unique as the 3 yo, but more bourboney. It's a good nose, about what it should be. The taste is complex
and interesting, with a lot of "darker" flavors and food-richness. Polar opposite in food groups as Weller. It tastes like a lower proof, aged version of the 03. I can see the family resieblance. Good full winter bourbon. |

Spices, not as 'dark' smelling as the 13 year old | | Taste: | Creamy, thick and full, good mouth coating, youth taste of buttered popcorn present. No real char. Maple bacon? Awesome feeling, interesting and unique taste. Good depth for something so young. | | Finish: | Alcohol jolt at first (but hey, 120+ proof), tingley mouth feel, corn and butter at first, fading to young spices | | Overall: | Very good for such a young product. The youth is VERY clear, but adds character instead of being a flaw. Easy to
drink for youth/proof, wonderful mouth feel and hearty dinner taste. More of a "meal" flavor then a "dessert" flavored bourbon. |

Sweet on the nose. There is a candy store here with sugared fruits (pears, apricots, etc). There are some baking spices for a fruit pie, cobblers. | | Taste: | Taste is full of the candied fruits and fruit pies. There may even be rhubarb in this puppy. | | Finish: | Its hot at 122, but not overwhelming. The sweet mixes with the heat and gives you one unique bourbon. | | Overall: | I am glad I picked this up, but doubt I will look for another bottle. There are so many Willets out there now that the novel part of having them is gone. I will hold out on buying many more. |

A bit of caramel sweetness, but the nose is more barrel driven with the wood. | | Taste: | Ripe apricot and dates with caramel and fine leather with oak tannins, but not too much tannins. | | Finish: | Long and dry. The sweetness quickly fades to oak woods and a dry tannic finish that is pleasant but verging on the over aged bitterness of a barrel that was aged too long. | | Overall: | This is a good sipping bourbon and is even better with a pipe full of tobacco or a cigar. A little water helps this bourbon out opening a little more flavor while toning down the oak tannins. |

It is very thick and almost oily with a flavor that sticks to the tongue adding to the finish | | Finish: | There is an underlying sweetnes at first that quickly is subdued by all the spice flavors that slowly becomes a dry oak finish. | | Overall: | This is a very complex bourbon with a lot going for it. This bottle proves to me that a bourbon does not have to be all oak wood and caramel to be an excellent drink. Drink it Neat but if you use it in a cocktail, it will hold its own with watever you mix it with. |

Alittle fire on the throat but quickly mellows in the finish. | | Finish: | Starts sweet with vanilla and caramel but quickly gets very spicey with cinnamon and cloves and a hint of oak tannins. | | Overall: | I like this bourbon neat, but this bourbon would make a cocktail that would knock your socks off with the fuinish. It is so good on the finish that nothing will subdue it. |

Delicious. Great mouth feel. | | Finish: | Very long with the fruit there till the very end. | | Overall: | KBD hit a home run with this one. I hope you all are fortunate enough to try this one. You won't forget it. You will have to be one who likes fruity bourbon because that's what it is, in spades. |
