Purchased at:Some at Greg's and Dane's
Nose:Lots of earth and lumberyard scents. Earth, lumber (oak and cedar), some vanilla, spice and a touch of citrus.
Taste:Good WT taste here that has a little bite - surprising for a 12 yr, but not bad. I just did not expect it. This is closer to the 80s 8 yr than the current 8 yr or 12 yr, but still not in the same league.
Finish:Nice finish. Very smooth and refined, but misses some depth in the earth and spice. Many of the best flavors roll off to quickly.
Overall:This is very. very good whiskey. Its balance is not as good as I hoped, but I would buy any bottle I ever found without hesitation.

Nose:Nuts, Rye, burnt brown sugar/maple syrup, vanilla, oak, nuts redux. A nose that evolves and never leaves a question as to its serious bourbon heritage. Among the most subtle of Wild Turkey (and bourbon) noses.
Taste:A soft, but rich sweetness and slow spice that develops as it progresses across the mouth. What it gives, you take with utmost gratitude.
Finish:Seeps into the soul!
Overall:AMEN!

Nose:Plato said there is a world behind, and more real than, the world of appearance. It is called the world of Forms. Things have their realty only in so far as they participate in the more real world of Forms. WT 12 YO is the Form for a bourbon nose..... it is otherworldly in its depth and appeal. The nose is greeted by rye, nuts, leather, some oak soaked with vanilla and just a shadow of maple syrup. The nose knows there is no other bourbon nose that is closer to the Form of the bourbon nose than the WT 12 YO bourbon nose.
Taste:The sweet is here and now, right upon entry. It is deep, it is rich, it is viscous, it is hearty, it is buttery. And after the sweet track has been laid, brethren and sistren, comes a rip of spice and pepper that is neither too much nor too little. It cuts right across yo mouf with complete authority. This is authentic American Whiskey as she ought ever to be. It has power, it has grace, it has balance, it is civilized, it is frontier, it is Uncle Sam!
Finish:Long, lingering, memorable, and mite near perfect!
Overall:When the last of my WT 12 YO is gone, I will shudder and possibly pass on to that great unknown beyond..........but probably not. I will hope that WT's Jimmy Russell or another Master Distiller can equal this bourbon as a Form for bourbon. Plato would have liked it muchly.

Purchased at:Tucker's Whiskey Dispensery, Cumberland, KY
Purchased for:$40
Nose:Rich in aromas of fruit, vanilla, leather, rye, cream, pecan pie, oak and char. It has all the elements of a classic bourbon. It screams for a taste as few bourbons do!
Taste:This bourbon satisfies the taste like all great bourbons will. It is rich and creamy with a sweetness that is complemented by the rye bite that is so charteristic of Wild Turkey products. The 'balance' between the sweet and spicy is supurb! It is smooth, flaovorful, and adheres to the bourbon profile in an exceptional way!
Finish:Wild Turkey 12 YO has a long lasting finsih that leaves the mouth with a wonderful coating of viscous sweetness tempered by the spice.
Overall:Bourbon at her best! This is the essence of bourbon in my opinion. It is the complete package. A wonderful nose followed by a complex taste that is the eptiome of bourbon! Everyone who claims to love bourbon should taste this bourbon!

Info on this bottle:05-07-98 stamped on neck foil
Nose:Early into the bottle there is a strong sweet nose with a pronounced alcohol bite and barrel tones. As the bottle breaths it settles into a very comforting aroma that is warm, dark, and sweet. Impressions of pear, rye, mint, vanilla, and cinnamon.
Taste:I was not overly impressed at first but it opened up nicely as the bottle got a chance to breath. Sweet with warm spices, caramel, and oak. Burn at the back of the mouth. Rich and luscious with fair amounts of barrel and oak. I find the flavor on this one hard to describe but it is excellent once you get part way through the bottle.
Finish:I got very little if any finish from this bottle. Short and dry with some tannin.
Overall:

Purchased at:Tucker's Whiskey Dispensery, Cumberland KY
Purchased for:$40
Nose:A superb nose that is exceedingly rich. Inhale slowly and you will be treated to the following: caramel and toffee, vanilla and licorice, nuts and leather, corn and honey, butterscotch and raisins, and to top it off, a bit of dry oak. Every child deserves to be loved and every bourbon lover deserves to have a whiff of this bourbon, but alas, neither will ever happen! If you are a bourbon lover and happen to find yourself in the Atlanta area, I offer you your deserved sample of this no longer available bourbon!!
Taste:Stunningly rich and tasty. A very thick and creamy bourbon with the perfect balance of spice and sweetness. You can truly wallow in the wonderful tastes that make lifelong friends with your mouth!
Finish:Moderately long finish that goes out with velvety smoothness and just the right touch of alcohol!
Overall:As TNbourbon said in his review, the equal of any current bourbon. This is the real thing, fellow bourbon drinkers. Seek it, find it, drink it..........love it!

Review from TNbourbon (BourbonEnthusiast Review ID 131)
Purchased at:Here and there around Middle Tennessee
Purchased for:$55
Nose:It's all cotton candy! Vanilla. A little alcohol to force you to remove your nose from the glass.
Taste:Is this whiskey, or rum? More than a hint of molasses evolving into the licorice of old BlackJack chewing gum. What else? (Hmmm -- let me pour a little more!) Ah, yes -- dry leather, menthol.
Finish:Black pepper resides long after swallowing, blowing past the licorice on exhalation. Not the longest finish even among Wild Turkey products, but enough to savor and force a next sip.
Overall:This bottling is second only to its older gold-foil sibling, and the equal of any current bourbon. To me, this is prototype rye-flavored bourbon. It is truly sad that it only exists in random, rare discoveries inside older liquor stores because of its current export-only status. Don't EVER bypass a bottle of WT12. Just don't!
