Bottling Info<From the bottle> The legendary Paul Jones, a young Virginian, laid siege to the heart and hand of a lovely Southern girl in post-war days. She signified her acceptance of his proposal by wearing a corsage of four red roses. Years later, when Paul Jones believed he had created exceptionally fine bourbon, he named it Four Roses in honour of his wife and the night she wore the corsage.

<From Four Roses>

Produced to satisfy demands in the Japanese market, this Fine Old Bourbon has a rich, full bodies flavor, characteristic of bourbons aged to their maturation peak. Known as "Treasured Rose" in Japan, its robust flavor, with a delicate touch of spicy character, enlivens the taste buds as only Fine Old Bourbon can.

Info on this bottle:Sample bottle from Distillery
Nose:Caramel with a hint of fruit and spice.
Taste:Sweet apple fruit and nutmeg and clove spice with rich vanilla and caramel.
Finish:Very sweet vanilla - think french vanilla ice cream - with a hint of caramel and oak. Very nice but ends quickly, luring you into another drink.
Overall:This is a very, very good version of Four Roses. I wish they sold it here in the States.

Info on this bottle:Black Label Four Roses
Proof Of this Bottle:80
Nose:Caramel and spice - nutmeg, with a hint of fruit - pears.
Taste:Sweet caramel toffee with a little cinnamon spice and oak. Very smooth with just a pleasant warmth in the mouth and some angels dancing on the tounge.
Finish:Very nice and lasting. Sweet vanilla and oak with a hint of spice.
Overall:This is a very interesting product. I find it especially so because I also find the Yellow label quite bland, a brown vodka product. There is a little more age in this product than the yellow label and it shows.
