Bottling Info	<Info from bottle necktag> Old Pogue Whiskey has a history dating back to the years following the Civil War. In 1869, the original Pogue distillery, Kentucky registered distillery No. 3, was established in Maysville, Mason County, Kentucky, very near a site often said to be the location of Kentucky's first distillery. Prior to Kentucky's statehood, Maysville was part of old Bourbon County, Virginia, where pioneer distillers discovered that the Indian corn and limestone water of the region made a product of mellow character and distinguished flavor. Pogue carried this tradition forward, and for over half a century maintained a reputation as producers of the finest Kentucky bourbon whiskey. Pogue ceased production due to Prohibition. Now, the fourth and fifth generations of Pogues return to offer the discriminating whiskey drinker a 91 proof (45.5% alc./vol.) small batch bourbon of superior quality crafted using the original Pogue recipe under a time-honored and fixed formula, never changed or cheapened in character. We're confident you'll agree with this assessment.

Nose:	Leather, corn and soft wood tones. There is a little alc on the nose with some spice that comes forward after it begins to open further. Not sure how much rye is in this, but it becomes very dominate from the 2nd min an on.
Taste:	Orange spice and pumpkin hit first and then the rye rushed in to take command. The burn is subtle, but there and the rye spice ramps up with no end in sight
Finish:	Lots of rye and spice. The rye dominates this juice to the point of making it unbalanced with anything else.
Overall:	I am sure this is a favorite of baby saz fans. Lots of rye and spice. I will not be revisiting this juice, but you rye fans should grab a bottle, you will not be disappointed.

Nose:	A bit of caramel, a lot of ethanol
Taste:	Like a good brandy: Warming, a bit of a bite, seems like it needs to mellow awhile so the character can build. I get oak, and that's about it.
Finish:	My tongue is numb. Seriously. It continues to burn long after the glass is empty
Overall:	I don't know if I got 'hold of a less-than-steller batch, but I can tell you that I don't get the same impression of it as the other reviewers. I don't know that I believe them when they say this is only 91 proof either. It's some heady stuff. For drinking neat, I prefer something smoother. I bet it would make a great mint julep though.

Nose:	Corn and Vanilla with a little leather and Oak.
Taste:	Corn and Vanilla with a little spice and oak.
Finish:	Short and sweet with vanilla and wood tannins.
Overall:	A decent bourbon for a cocktail such as an old fashioned or whiskey sour.

Nose:	Corn husk and floral tones - violets and wild flowers, with some caramel toffee and a hint of leather.
Taste:	Caramel toffee and vanilla with a little corn and a lot of oak wood. Very smooth with no alcohol burn.
Finish:	Abit dry from the wood tanins but some sweet caramel to balance the wood. Last a moderate long time.
Overall:	I am a bit suprised. This bottle is better than what I had tasted last year when it first came out. This is a nice sippin whiskey but would also do well in a manhattan or old fashioned. The Pogues are moving in the right direction.
